CSU Residential Network is your campus gateway to the Internet

For RNet connection you must have the following: 10/100 or 10/100/1000 Ethernet card (around $20-$100) Category-5e or Category-6 network cable (around $15-$20).

***NOTE: CSU UITS Department does not sell or supply this equipment. The CSU bookstore has some supplies, but all supplies can be purchased at any office supply store.

By contrast, Internet service providers (ISP's) currently charge a minimum of $29.95 per month, typically with a one year contract, for unlimited access to the internet. The connection speed which is provided through a cable modem is around 256kbs - 512kbs, ResNet connections speeds are rated around 100mbs (over 10 times the speed of cable modems).
