Connecting to RNet

CSU students must have a network ready computer to access the Internet
using the RNet connection. A network ready computer has an Ethernet
network card installed and configured correctly and a LAN cable to connect
the computer to the RNet jack.
 
Installation Instructions for Network Ready Computers

  1. Plug your LAN cable into the data jack located in your bedroom.

  2. Turn on your computer and start your Internet browser.

  3. If your computer is configured correctly you should see the CSU Network Registration page.

Windows 95/98/ME or Windows 2000/XP
 

Installation Instructions for Non-Network Ready Computers.

  1. Pick-up an installation CD from your Residence Life office or the student HelpDesk located inside the Center for Commerce and Technology.

  2. Put the CD in the CD drive. You will be presented with the RNet main page.

  3. Click on ‘technical information’ and follow the steps in setting up your computer to be network ready. Once completed, follow the steps for network ready computers above.
